Our maintenance services are primarily carried out on a weekly or fortnightly basis, however, we can tailor a plan to suite your specific needs if required.

Our history

At the young age of 22 and having just acquired my first home in Ladysmith, Natal, my passion for gardening and landscaping began, when the reality of having to create a complete new garden on a previously undeveloped piece of land, dawned on me.

Within three years, I was awarded a second prize in the annual "Garden of the Year" competition, at which time, the whole town was automatically entered and judged. This inspired me to pursue my talent in landscaping and my love for gardening, and over the next thirty years I participated in various garden competitions and achieved many awards in numerous towns and cities where I lived, including the likes of Queensburgh, Windhoek, Westville, Pinetown, etc.

On early retirement to Knysna in 2004 Marietta and I acquired Sonstraal Garden Service, which was an established garden service since 1994. It was my intension to keep myself busy in Knysna with the things that I enjoyed and mattered most to me. The decision was quite simple... GARDENING!

Over the next 15 years and even before, Sonstraal Garden Services has become a well known and popular garden service in the town of Knysna with existing longstanding clients even from as far back as 2004.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we are, and will remain a small team to ensure that personal control and supervision can be achieved and assured.

Security

Security has become one of the most important issues in our lives, and we are proud of the fact that we DO NOT engage the services of casual labourers. ALL members of our team are fulltime contracted and registered employees, having been part of our team over many years.
